Irakli Iagorashvili from Telavi. I have been engaged in civil activism since 2013. Have participated in the projects by UN Association–Advancing National Integration in Georgia and Promoting Integration Tolerance and Awareness. In 2015, I visited the US in the framework of an exchange program for visitors. Then I worked as an intern at the American Corner Telavi. His spheres of interest include human rights, mainly ethnic and religious minority issues.

The first time I visited the Peace Cathedral was in October 2017. I used to get a great deal of information through your Facebook page. Since I am highly interested in human rights I assume that this topic is immensely essential and in my point of view most of the visitors of the cathedral realize how important it is to achieve equality in our society. From the very name the Peace Cathedral seems to be serving peace which is bound to be unattainable in case human rights aren’t preserved. To me this sight is utterly outstanding. The space where one is able to forget all problems and even get teemed with enthusiasm in order to overcome all obstacles. I often hear that this or that particular person wasn’t allowed to enter the church. I believe, the gate of God should be opened for everyone and we aren’t here to judge to whom the gate is closed or opened. The Peace Cathedral is accessible to anyone and that’s why I respect it. It’s hard not to mention that the Peace Cathedral pursues charity activities which is quite remarkable. I assume, that this kind of communities largely contribute to development of the state and they worth appreciating by our society.

I wish the Peace Cathedral great success, firm stimulus in the rewarding activities it does. The Peace Cathedral never forgets years of hardship and I wish such period didn’t recur in the future. Moreover, my willingness is that the cathedral becomes more renowned and appreciated so that the importance of liberty and equality is enhanced among the populace.

 I lived in multicultural environment, though, until the age of 15 I never experienced interactions with ethnic and religion minorities. Despite realizing the importance of tolerance with help of my school and youth center, this knowledge covered on the theory and probably hard to embody in practice. The first time I met a representative of ethnic and at the same time religious minorities I unconsciously felt embarrassed, I found it difficult to apply the theory to practice. However, each passing day was much easier and better. In fact, my tolerant attitude was established directly through interactions and not theories or articles. This experience might be necessary to a large number of people in order to eradicate xenophobia once and forever. In my standpoint, it is vital to have more connections between various religious and other minorities in order to establish friendly and warm attitudes.

ირაკლი იაგორაშვილი ქალაქ თელავიდან. 2013 წლიდან ჩართული ვარ სამოქალაქო აქტივიზმში. ვმონაწილეობდი გაეროს ასოციაციის პროექტებში – „ეროვნული ინტეგრაციის გაძლიერება საქართველოში“ და „ტოლერანტობის სამოქალაქო ცნობიერებისა და ინტეგრაციის მხარდაჭერის პროგრამა“ . 2015-ში ვიზიტორთა გაცვლითი პროგრამით, ვეწვიე ამერიკის შეერთებულ შტატებს. შემდგომში ვმუშაობდი სტაჟიორად თელავის ამერიკულ კუთხეში. დაინტერესებული ვარ ეთნიკური და რელიგიური უმცირესობების საკითხებით. 

მიმართვა – მშვიდობის კათედრალს პირველად 2017 წლის ოქტომბერში ვესტუმრე. მანამდე საკმაოდ ბევრ ინფორმაციას ვიღებდი ფეისბუკ გვერდიდან. ვინაიდან და რადგანაც დაინტერესებული ვარ ადამიანის უფლებებით, ვფიქრობ, მშვიდობის კათედრალში ეს თემა საკმაოდ მნიშვნელოვანია და ჩემი დაკვირვებით კათედრალში მისული უმეტესი ადამიანი აანალიზებს, თუ რამდენად მნიშვნელოვანია თანასწორობის მიღწევა დღევანდელ საზოგადოებაში. მშვიდობის კათედრალი სახელიდანვე ჩანს რომ ემსახურება მშვიდობას, რაც მიუღწეველია, თუ არ დავიცავთ ადამიანის უფლებებს. ჩემთვის ეს ადგილი საკმაოდ გამორჩეულია. სივრცე, სადაც შეგიძლია დროებით ყველა პრობლემა დაივიწყო და პირიქით ისეთი შემართებით აღივსო, რომ ყველა დაბრკოლება გადალახო. ხშირად მსმენია, რომ ესა და ეს ადამიანი სხვადასხვა მიზეზის გამო ტაძარში არ შეუშვეს. ვფიქრობ, „ღმერთის კარი“ ყველა ადამიანისთვის უნდა იყოს ღია და ჩვენ არ შეგვიძლია შევაფასოთ, თუ ვისთვის იქნება ის დაკეტილი. მშვიდობის კათედრალი ყველასთვის ღიაა და სწორედ ეს არის ჩემი მხრიდან პატივისცემის ერთ-ერთი მიზეზი. მათთვის თითეული ინდივიდი დასაფასებელი და პატივსაცემია. ასევე არ შემიძლია არ ვახსენო ისიც, რომ მშვიდობის კათედრალი ეწევა საქველმოქმედო საქმიანობასაც, რაც საკმაოდ აღსანიშნავი და მისაბაძია. მიმაჩნია, რომ თითოეულ ასეთ სივრცეს ქვეყნის განვითარების საქმეში დიდი წვლილი შეაქვს და ისინი იმსახურებენ პატივისცემას საზოგადოებისგან.

სურვილი –  ვუსურვებ მშვიდობის კათედრალს უპირველ ყოვლისა წარმატებებსა და წინსვლას, უფრო მეტ შემართებას იმ დასაფასებელ საქმიანობაში რასაც ასრულებს. მშვიდობის კათედრალს ახსოვს მძიმე წლებიც და ვისურვებდი ასეთი პერიოდი არასდროს დადგეს მომავალში. ასევე ჩემი სურვილია კათედრალი გახდეს მეტად ცნობადი და დაფასებული, რათა ხალხში მეტად ამაღლდეს თავისუფლებისა და თანასწორობის მნიშვნელობა .

გამოცდილება – საკმაოდ მრავალფეროვან ქალაქში ვცხოვრობდი, თუმცა 15 წლამდე არასდროს მქონია შეხება ეთნიკურად ან რელიგიურად განსხვავებულ ადამიანთან. მართალია ვხვდებოდი ტოლერანტობის მნიშვნელობას სკოლისა და ახალგაზრდული ცენტრის საშუალებით, თუმცა ეს ცოდნა მხოლოდ თეორიული იყო და ალბათ პრაქტიკაში შედარებით ძნელად განსახორციელებელი. პირველად ეთნიკური და ამავე დროს რელიგიური უმცირესობის წარმომადგენელს რომ შევხვდი, არ ვიცი რატომ, მაგრამ უხერხულად ვიგრძენი თავი, გამიჭირდა თეორიული ცოდნის პრაქტიკაში გამოყენება, თუმცა თითოეული დღე შემდგომში წინაზე კარგი და ადვილი იყო. რეალურად ჩემი ტოლერანტული დამოკიდებულება ჩამოყალიბდა უშუალოდ ურთიერთობიდან და არა თეორიებისა და სტატიების კითხვისგან. ეს გამოცდილება ალბათ დღესდღეობით ბევრ ადამიანს ესაჭიროება, რადგან ერთხელ და სამუდამოდ აღმოვფხვრათ ქსენოფობია. ჩემი აზრით, საჭიროა მეტი კავშირები განსხვავებული რელიგიური ან სხვა უმცირესობების შორის, რათა ჩამოყალიბდეს მეგობრული თბილი დამოკიდებულება.
