I Will Build This World from Love – Special screening and discussion hosted by Prof Paul Fiddes at Oxford Center for Religion and Culture
A few weeks ago, The Oxford Centre for Religion and Culture – led by Emeritus Principal, Prof Paul Fiddes – hosted a special screening and discussion at Regent’s for the documentary, ‘I Will Build This World from Love’.
Directed by three-time Emmy Award winner, John Block and Oliver Miede, the film offers a compelling vision of hope, rooted in a bold multi-faith initiative at the Peace Cathedral in Tbilisi, Georgia. It explores how communities across traditions can come together in the pursuit of peace, understanding, and shared humanity.
Following the screening, an insightful discussion brought together Rt Revd Malkhaz Songulashvili (Baptist Metropolitan Bishop of Tbilisi and Professor of Comparative Theology, Ilia University), Rabbi Dr Jonathan Romain (Head of the Rabbinic Court of Great Britain) and Prof Fiddes. Together, they reflected on the film’s central themes – interfaith dialogue, reconciliation, and the transformative power of love in divided contexts.
An inspiring evening that reminded us what is possible when faith communities collaborate across boundaries.
